The Heart of My business: Real Connection - Through Local Events

Written by April Chy | Jul 18, 2025 5:15:41 PM

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ve probably seen me post about local events each week. Usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays. I also send out a monthly calendar with even more info through my newsletter. And it is all intentional, not random.

These calendars and weekly posts are a result from hours of gathering events from multiple sources to give you a well-rounded look at what’s happening locally. It takes time, but I choose to do it because it provides real value, keeps people informed, and helps them feel more connected to their community.

Built on Trust and Intention

Whether it’s real estate, art, or content, everything I do is rooted in real human connection. When I sell art, I connect with people through the meaning behind my pieces. When I was in the microblading business, I educated clients on what to expect so they could feel confident. And now, in real estate, I continue the same intention: to help people feel more supported, more informed, and less alone in their journey.

That’s why I show up consistently, share what I learn, and focus on connection over sales. Sure, I need to make a living like anyone else, but for me, genuine connection will always be what drives my business forward.

Creating Value Without Expectations

The local event calendar, weekly posts, and newsletter are free, helpful resources I offer. Not to get a lead or make a sale, but to make life just a little easier for someone else.

The newsletter includes real estate insights, tips for personal and professional growth, updates from my blog, highlights from social media, and he full clickable event calendar for each month, which you can only access by subscribing to that free newsletter

This started as something I made for myself to feel more plugged into the community. It turned into something I realized could help a lot of others too.

Whether you’re new in town, planning family time, or just want to explore more of your area without spending a ton of time digging through multiple websites. This calendar can help. The events don’t always require a payment or shopping, and I also include free events, low-cost options, and local gems you might not find otherwise.

How it Reflects My Business

What I share, and how I share it, is a reflection of how I do business. I’m not pushy. I don’t show up only when there’s something to gain. While helping people buy, sell, or move forward is part of my role as a licensed real estate agent, what matters more to me is the way I do it: with honesty, connection, and care at every step.

My content and consistency reflect the type of professional I am. Intentional. Present. Supportive.

Even if we never work together in a transactional way, I want people to walk away from our interactions feeling seen and valued. That matters just as much to me as any commission.

For the Silent Supporters

I know not everyone comments or message, but I see you. I know you’re watching, following, and absorbing. And I hope you know I’m here for you too and so grateful to be able to provide value to you, even if in small ways.

You don’t have to engage to be part of this space. If what I share helps you build trust and feel more rooted in your community, that’s already a win and you are more than welcome here. Although, I hope to see you peak out of the shadows and let me know what really speaks to you from time to time.

The event calendar, weekly posts, and newsletter are resources meant to support people no matter where they are in life. Whether they’re in a transition, focused on growth, staying local, or simply curious about what’s next.
