Everyone needs inspiration and motivation. No matter who you are or what you do. Whether you’re a doctor, a stay-at-home parent, a real estate agent, or a business owner, nobody is immune to that need. The truth is: motivation doesn’t always just “show up.” Sometimes you have to find or create it.
My Early Misunderstanding of Inspiration
As an artist, people often assume I have inspiration flowing all the time. But when I was younger, I believed inspiration only came from what I saw due to the way I was taught how to find inspiration with artwork. I thought I had to travel, spend money, and experience something new in order to really get inspired. Because of that, I put limits on myself.
Over time, though, I realized Inspiration doesn’t just live “out there.” It can be built through consistency. I noticed this not just in art, but in real estate too. When I simply showed up, posting, learning, practicing, even when it felt awkward at first, inspiration ALWAYS follows soon after.
Consistency Over Perfection
For me, consistency is the first ingredient for both motivation and inspiration.
That doesn’t mean I’m perfect at routines. In fact, I’ve struggled with planners and time-blocking systems that felt too rigid. What finally worked for me was simplifying:
Using my physical planner for the most important tasks to remember what to do on a specific day & track daily habits
Tracking my daily work schedule in an Excel time-blocking sheet that was provided from a training with eXp University
This approach gave me space and structure without feeing overwhelming. And once I stayed consistent, motivation showed up. Even at least three hours a week of training left me energized, like I’d accomplished so much more than I expected.
Where to Find Inspiration
Inspiration can come from so many places and you don’t always need to leave your home to find it.
Look back at your progress. Sometimes the best motivation is realizing how far you’ve already come.
Keep learning. Consistently building new skills sparks news ideas. For me, trainings aren’t just educational, they’re inspirational.
Have conversations. Reaching out to people you admire can feel scary, but the best case scenario is that you learn something valuable and get inspired!
Books & content. Reading even the unrelated books can help to get the creative ideas flowing. And you never know what other people in your field are going to post that make you motivated too.
And when fear or doubt creeps in? I remind myself that action beats fear every time. Even imperfect action creates momentum.
My Journey
When I started in real estate, I didn’t know what to post or say. My first posts felt clunky. But by showing up consistently, refining my brand/systems, and learning more, I gained confidence and clarity. The same thing happened when I picked art back up after years away. The more I have been creating, the more inspired I have been feeling.
It’s not about waiting for inspiration or for someone/something to motivate you. It’s about creating the conditions where inspiration finds you.
Inspiration and motivation aren’t reserved for certain people or certain professions. They’re available to anyone willing to take small steps, stay consistent, and keep learning.
What About You?
What inspires you when you’re feeling stuck? A ritual, a person, or a practice that gets you ready to take on your goals? I’d love to hear about it!
